Tampax tampons are available in the following absorbency levels:

- Lites: for days with very little flow.

- Regular: For days with light to moderate flow

- Super: for days with moderate to heavy flow

- Super plus: for days of heavy flow.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

Tampon use is associated with a rare but serious condition called Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).

TSS is a very rare but serious disease. It is caused by toxins produced by the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, which are commonly found in the nose and vagina. TSS is a well-known and treatable disease that can affect men, women, and children. It is more likely to occur in adolescent girls and women under 30 years of age (menstrual TSS).

Although it is rare, it is important to know about it in order to act if necessary.

Early recognition and treatment of symptoms is essential. Warning signs of possible TSS include, but are not necessarily all, a sudden high fever (39°C or higher), dizziness, vomiting, muscle pain, diarrhea, fainting or fainting upon standing, and sunburn-like skin irritations.

In advanced stages of the disease, the skin may peel.

TSS can occur at any time during or shortly after menstruation. It can easily progress from flu-like symptoms to a serious, life-threatening illness. If you experience one or more of these symptoms, you should remove the tampon immediately and seek medical attention. Tell your doctor that you have used tampons and are concerned about TSS.

If you've had TSS symptoms in the past, you should consult your doctor before using tampons. You can reduce your risk of TSS by using the lowest absorbency needed to cover your needs, changing your tampon every 4 to 8 hours, and using a pad instead of a tampon at least once a day during your period. You can also virtually eliminate the risk of menstrual TSS by not using tampons.

It is recommended to always use the presentation with the minimum absorption based on personal flow.

Change tampon every 4/8 hours.
